Hi there! Welcome!
On behalf of Goodwill Industries of Central Michigan’s Heartland (GICMH), I want to personally welcome you to our web site. March 1, 2007, two local Michigan Goodwills (each with its own rich, colorful, 50-plus-year history) joined forces for the purpose of better serving persons who need Goodwill Industries’ famous ‘hand up, rather than a hand out.’
If Goodwill Industries were an iceberg, then donated goods and retail sales would be the tip of that iceberg. So much more happens that isn’t evident to the public. Our workforce development area serves individuals most directly, providing a wide array of services. The Contracts area provides job training and employment opportunities for those who have barriers to employment. Wheels to Work provides vehicles to individuals for whom transportation has become the big barrier to work.
You’ll learn that GICMH is also part of an exciting project with Dell, the computer company, to recycle computers.
On the ‘Braggin’ page you’ll learn about the awards Goodwill has won, the million-dollar endowment, and some of the nifty, creative programs Goodwill has developed.
In an effort to be totally accountable and transparent to the public, we’re including copies of recent annual reports, Form 990s, and we will be attaching, once it’s finalized, our Strategic Plan for the new merged Goodwill.
Enjoy our web site and we hope you return. Contact me with questions or comments.
